Donate to the maintenance fund

The work doesn’t end with planting! We are targeting to raise a minimum of $10K over the next year to establish the garden maintenance fund.

Maintenance work will be vital to the growth of the W̱SÁNEĆ ethnobotanical garden, and to fulfilling the vision we have for it to be:

  • An interpretive demonstration garden that teaches Islanders and visitors about Indigenous cultural use of plants.

  • A cutting garden supporting propagation of plants for W̱SÁNEĆ cultural use.

  • A hub for Island and W̱SÁNEĆ community gathering and sharing.

  • A pollinator garden for nature.

The Mayne Island Agricultural Society, on whose property the garden has been established, will be maintaining it into the future once it is completed. We are grateful to the Ag Society for their partnership on this project!

You can donate securely online though Canada Helps:

Alternatively, you can mail a cheque made out to the Mayne Island Agricultural Society, 430 Fernhill Road, Mayne Island, BC V0N 2J0.

Please note on the cheque that the donation is for the Ethnobotany Garden Maintenance Fund!
